April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. Ross is among the few women beach volleyball athletes who have achieved this feat. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian who will be joining her in Tokyo. Ross wants to achieve more than her first Olympic medal. As she turns 39, it could be Ross' last opportunity to claim an Olympic gold. Her confidence is high, however. Ross was reported on NBC Boston as saying that if you play your best, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. Additionally, I'm going to rely on a bit of luck. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and her sister. She was able to participate in many activities at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete, she also played indoor track and volleyball. Although she was a pro when playing indoors but it was apparent that her abilities were higher than the average. As per her biography in high school, she was a volleyball player as an outside setter (middle blocker) as well as a the setter (outside blocker). Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her as the National Player 1999. Also, she won the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman formed their relationship in 2017 However, Ross was a beach scene celebrity for a long time prior to. The fact is, she's been a winner of numerous major tournaments and one partner was an all-star volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until 2013. Kessy's teammate Ross, who was the winner of the world championship together with Kessy in 2009, also was an important player on the an international level. They eventually won a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends who took home the Olympic gold medal in 2012 in London, took their opponents to claim the gold medal. As fate would have it Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. Together, they won bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics in the year the year 2016. Ross was a college player at USC Trojans prior to beginning her pro career. She was a player in high school and in years prior to hitting the beach as a professional. Ross had an impressive run through the NCAA tournament. Her freshman year in 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the award and become an All-American. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans to make it to the Final Four. In her sophomore year, she was devastated by a personal setback, but she was able to make it back as an All-American. In her last two seasons with the Trojans' program the team was led to victory by winning successive national titles. In 2003-2004, she was named the top female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the US according to The Honda Sports Award. Ross studied the study of international relations in USC. Sadly, Ross mom Margie did not get to see Ross rise to the very top of beach volleyball stardom. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore at USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. She continues to cherish her late parent. Margie has inspired her both in her personal life and at the beach.
